Today we’re announcing the launch of our second vertical venture studio: Highline Beta ETH.
Highline Beta ETH is focused on building & funding ventures within the Ethereum ecosystem, with a specific focus on B2B use cases that blend TradFi & Web3.
We’re partnering with Nigel Da Costa, a seasoned entrepreneurial executive with two exits, who joins Highline Beta ETH as Managing Director.
Nigel has spent the last 5+ years immersed in the crypto community, building and funding new ventures. Most recently he was a Founding Member of Dtravel, a peer-to-peer vacation rental platform built on the Nite protocol and powered by Base. Prior to that, Nigel spent 7 years at Airbnb.

In addition, Dmitry Buterin joins as a Venture Partner. Founder of three multi-million dollar businesses, angel investor/mentor in blockchain startups, and proud father of Vitalik Buterin (creator of Ethereum).

Our goal is to build a concentrated portfolio of up to 10 startups, leveraging an established Ethereum ecosystem to accelerate portfolio success.
A vertical venture studio focuses on a narrow industry/market in order to increase the quality of startups that are built. Our first vertical venture studio is Highline Beta DentalTech, which is building and funding startups aiming to solve problems for dental clinics and increase quality of care. Each vertical brings together the right ingredients, including domain expertise, venture building methodologies, investors, advisors & capital to help speed up the process of 0-1 validation and go-to-market.
We’re now validating our first startup in Highline Beta ETH, focused on the wealth management space. We expect to share more about this venture in the coming months.
Nigel and Marcus Daniels, Highline Beta’s CEO, will be attending Consensus in Toronto between May 14-16, 2025. Consensus is one of web3’s biggest and most important events. Nigel will be speaking at Consensus on May 15th for Wealth Management Day. If you’re interested in meeting them during Consensus, please let us know.
